Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying, renting and delivering a shipping container.

Buying a Container

What container sizes do you sell?

We sell 10', 20', 40' and 45' shipping containers. 20' and 40' units come in standard (8'6") and high cube (9'6") heights, with options such as double doors, open side doors and roll-up doors. Browse the full range in our shipping container collection.

What is the difference between One Trip, Cargo Worthy and Wind & Watertight containers?

One Trip containers have made a single voyage from the manufacturer and are the newest units available in the U.S. — minimal wear, smooth doors and ideal for modifications. Cargo Worthy containers are inspected and approved for international shipping and are structurally sound. Wind & Watertight containers are the most economical option: retired from shipping lines with visible wear, but guaranteed weatherproof and vermin-proof. See our container grades guide for full details.

Should I buy an "As Is" container?

We generally don't recommend "As Is" units unless your use doesn't require weatherproofing. They can have significant damage or structural issues, they are not covered by our warranty and they cannot be returned.

Why do prices vary by location?

Container inventory and pricing vary by depot. Choose the depot closest to you on the product page (Redmond, Portland or Seattle), or request a quote with your ZIP code and we will confirm the best price and delivery cost for your site.

Can I buy a container for a government agency or a large fleet order?

Yes. We work with municipalities, agencies and businesses on volume and fleet orders. Visit Government Sales or Fleet & Volume Orders, or contact our team for a tailored quote.

Ordering & Payment

How does ordering online work?

Add your container (and any accessories or modifications) to the cart and place your order. Our team will then contact you to confirm delivery details, final pricing and your sales or lease agreement, and send a secure payment link or invoice. No payment is taken until those details are confirmed.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Through our financing partners we offer business financing for containers, offices and modifications, as well as personal financing plans. See Financing Options to learn more.

Are deposits refundable?

All container sales are final and deposits are non-refundable. Please talk through your requirements with our sales team before ordering so the container we deliver matches your expectations.

Delivery

How is a container delivered?

We deliver with a truck and tilt-bed trailer. The driver backs into the delivery spot, tilts the trailer and carefully lowers the container into place. For hard-to-reach places we offer crane and side-lift delivery at an additional fee — see Delivery Options.

How much space do you need for delivery?

We need about 80 feet of straight-line clearance for 10' or 20' containers and 120 feet for 40' containers. The delivery area should be flat, level and compacted so the cargo doors work properly.

How far in advance should I schedule delivery?

Please give us 2–8 weeks notice for purchases and rentals, and sign your sales or lease agreement before delivery day. We will call on the day of delivery when the driver is en route.

Can I pick up my container myself?

Yes — free local pickup is available from our depots. Choose Local Pickup at checkout and our team will arrange a time with you.

Can you move a container I already own?

Yes. We relocate empty containers at $350 per hour with a two-hour minimum, billed from when our truck leaves the yard until it returns. Full containers require specialized equipment such as a side-lift truck or crane. See Relocation Services.

Rentals

How much does it cost to rent a storage container?

Month-to-month rentals start at $135/month for a 20' container and $175/month for a 40' container, with a one-month minimum. Delivery is calculated by location and pickup fees apply. See Rentals.

How do I return a rental container?

Give us 30 days notice, empty and sweep the container, remove all locks and make sure it is accessible for pickup. Please report any damage before pickup and settle outstanding invoices. Read the full Rental Return Guide.

Warranty & Returns

What does the one-year warranty cover?

Our Wind & Watertight, Cargo Worthy and One Trip containers are guaranteed free from leaks for one year from purchase. We will repair or replace parts that compromise wind and water tightness. Cosmetic defects, normal wear and tear, handling damage and custom paintwork are excluded. Read the full warranty.

Can I return a container?

Unmodified WWT, Cargo Worthy and One Trip containers can be returned within 14 days of purchase in the condition received. A 25% restocking fee applies and the buyer covers return shipping. "As Is" and custom-modified containers cannot be returned. See our return policy.

Modifications

What modifications do you offer?

We add roll-up doors, man doors, windows, vents, skylights, insulation, HVAC and electrical, partition walls, shelving and full office build-outs. Browse container modifications or see Modification Services.

Is it better to add modifications before delivery?

Yes — modifications are the best value when purchased with the container before it is delivered. Mobile installation is available at an additional cost.
